Mark Carson has been writing songs and performing for over 25 years. From being the lead singer and principle songwriter for his band in the 80s and 90s to the present, Mark has written over 1000 songs in many genres, including country, rock, pop, funk, blues, and jazz. In addition to getting some songs cut by award-winning and successful New Orleans bands, in 2009 Mark got his first Nashville single “Barn on the Rooftop” that was recorded by new artist Ty Williams and has had two other singles on country radio in addition to several indie cuts. Currently Mark splits his time between writing in Nashville and teaching history and songwriting at Tulane University. He has a publishing deal with Iron Bridge Music Publishing, Nashville.
